Thermostats are an often overlooked piece of your system, yet it is the eyes of your system. Learning to operate and efficiently control it helps keep your utility bills down and runs your air efficiently.
When you leave for the day, turn your thermostat up a few degrees - no more than 5 degrees than what is your normal comfort level. If you go out of town, you can set it higher, but keep in mind that the further you set it from your comfort level, the longer it's going to take to cool your space. We recommend turning it down a few degrees at a time. If you come home to a thermostat set at 78 and want it to go down to 72, first set it to 75. Once it reaches 75, set it to 72. If you have a smart thermostat, set it up with your phone and begin cooling your home down on the drive home!
If your system stops working, yet you have power to the system, check your thermostat! Changing it's batteries may save you a visit from a tech..... but you didn't hear that from me!
